There are places we'll never know

Aerobics?

Headbands?

Short shorts on some seriously meaty legs?

This can only mean on thing... Dirty on Purpose have a new video! It's for their current single "No Radio" and it's basically replacing Yo La Tengo in our indie-tastic hearts (because, off the record, I Am Not Afiaad of You and I Will Beat You Ass isn't really "grabbing" us).

I'm sure this incident will somehow turn into a 34-word song title

Actually, that could just be the title.

It looks as if Brendan Urie, the suave-looking, possibly virgin Panic! at the Disco frontman, got owned by a bottle at Carling Weekend: Reading Festival yesterday. It happend during DN fave "The Only Difference Between Suicide and Martyrdom is Press Coverage", but then Brendan just kept on trucking and finished the set in style. Remember when 50 Cent was bottled offstage like two years ago at that thing? Maybe the Carling Weekend should do like the airlines and ban liquids. Behave yourselves, Brits (though, Fiddy deserved that shit, off the record)!

To mark the occasion, here's the Tommy Sunshine remix of "...Suicide and Martyrdom":

Panic! at the Disco - The Only Difference Between Suicide and Martyrdom is Press Coverage (Tommy Sunshine Brooklyn Fire Remix)

The boys Panic are also going on tour this fall. They'll be performing at the Theater at Madison Square Garden November 13th and 14th, so you'll be able to check us out screaming in the front row with the 15-year-olds who get laid more than us :(

KEANE :(

Keane's Tom Chaplin has entered rehab for "drink and drugs"! WTF?!? Does he mean cherry cola and sticky buns? He's the most innocent-looking Man in Pop! I hope he's still going to play V Fest in Baltimore. I was looking forward to seeing them in a festival space.

And before you start, WHATEVER. WE LOVE KEANE. Hopes and Fears is the shit. There's nothing wrong with taking the best bits of Coldplay (spastic piano hook, fey vocals, bombastic chorus), cutting out the lame shit (uncontrollable whining, Jesus complex, Gwyneth Paltrow) and looping in to infinity. Long live Keane, BITCH.

Here's their video for "Is It Any Wonder?", the current Best Pop Song of 2006:

You can also buy an AMAZING remix 12" of "Wonder" from our favorite British record shop, Picadilly Records. Search for "Keane" then scroll down a bit. Believe us, SO WORTH IT.

Also, take a few minutes to read our interview with Tim Keane from the release of Hopes and Fears (and their first NYC show at Knitting Factory! Keepin' it real 2k4 stylee!)

Howling at the moon!

Mad Staring Eyes won last year's Glastonbury Battle of the Bands competition, a prize recently claimed by The Subways, who rocketed to fame with such "hits" as "Rock 'n' Roll Queen" and "Oh Yeah". Unfortch for them, the Subways aren't all that, while MSE's blend of Duran meets Placebo is (surprisingly) ace and refreshing! Eat it, Boy Kill Boy! Check out a whole bunch of their songs on their Myspace page, and feel free to download their disconcertingly good new single, "Walking In the Streets" right below:

The Pipettes in ubercute video "shocker"!

Ah, we used to read seminal French culture mag Les Inrockuptibles all the time, during our Parisian school children days. Dissecting Beck interviews on the banks of the Seine, discussing Jeff Buckley under the shadows of the Eiffel Tower... OK maybe not really, but it was definitely in our intentions. Anyway, the magazine has posted the new Pipettes video, "Your Kisses are Wasted on Me", on their website. As with all things Pipettes, it's so cute it kind of makes you want to vomit polka dots. Have they come to American yet? Are we missing out on that shit? God, someone get these poor kids to our shores before we go crazy and start idolizing Twinkle, Sandie Shaw and France Gall more than we already do.

"Haha, it's so NME!"

WTF? We love the Misfits-meets-Libertines snarl of The Horrors, and the NME remains our favorite music publication (and yes, we realize it is geared towards 15-year-olds, but so is Teen Vogue, and we don't see any of you bitches complaining there). But somehow, the marriage of the two seems a little bit, we don't know, premature? They're acting like this is some Arctic Monkeys shit up in here. "Sheena is a Parasite" is an amazing proto-goth dance-fest, but what will the band have to talk about for an entire cover feature? Their love for Shockheaded Peter? Eyeshadow? Beetlejuice? The mind boggles. We'll be sure to let you guys know as soon as we buy our $15.99 import issue. :(

So Kiss Me Goodbye...

Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back and Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous might be guilty pleasures for some people but I openly dig them. My newest guilty pleasure is this video from the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack.

What up Gabe from Midtown?
Hello Swedish hottie Maja from the Sounds.
A Samuel L. cameo and the dude from Fall Out Boy.
Ummm...I just watched this video like 5 times.

This just in...

Pipettes take a crap.

We're being super lazy today (what can we say, it's like 90 million degrees outside, and our apartment just got A/C), so why don't you just check out the above clip of Professor Murder performing their ace summer hit "Free Stress Test" last month. Pictchfork (who we realize we just mocked, but, come on) just gave PM's new EP Professor Murder Rides the Subway an 8.3. Make sure to see PM next time they play your hood, which, if you live in Williamsburg, should be pretty soon.
