That's right! Up-and-coming NYC dance-pop party We Are Your Friends has teamed up with your Disconappers to bring you one Fourth of July your dancin' feet will never forget (or something to that effect). We're opning the festivities from 12 to 1:30PM on the roof of Bar 13, fried chicken will be served, drink specials will be drunk, and we can assure you, Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be played.

Headlining Djs are Lauren Flax, Huggs, and our very own special robot, Robot Blair. It will be a magical night (i.e. afternoon) to remember. Be there!

Crystal Castles are making their way across the border to NYC! They are playing an early show at the First Fridays event at the Museum of Natural History sponsored by Flavorpill but if you're a night owl and like to dance - Studio B is the place to be! From our experience before when this event was held at the Guggenheim Museum (long lines!), we are advocates for making the trip to Brooklyn!

If you would like to be added to a reduced admission list, let us know - we'll make sure it's all good in the 'hood.

Come to Bar 13 and catch a live set by French band Neimo at MIDNIGHT! We'll be there in hopes of feeling like we're right in the middle of a Parisian underground dance floor surrounded by sweaty kids, people making out in corners and what not to Neimo's mix of indie-punk-new wave.

The the next stop on the W.A.Y.F tour is at the back room of the kitschy bar chain, Beauty Bar!

The amazingly rad, Dan Selzer (Crazy Rhythms/Acute Records/NY Happenings) and Paulie (Shack Up/Mute Records) are on the decks for your shimmying pleasure. If you get there early, the DN's aka CEC and KKH will have an early mini-set to get the kids shakin'! YOWZA! We're ready for some more bootyshaking, hands in the air action up in the booth!

PbJamwiches, sweet treats as per usual to satisify your mid-nite cravings. We know for a fact that these treats are made with some tender love and care!

The last time we were at Beauty Bar there were bottles breaking on the dance floor! Well let's not get that crazy...but let's keep the party going all night long! Viva mercoledi!

It's a mothereffin DANCE OFF!

The March 7th edition of WAYF will be the official after party for Grizzly Bear's sold out show at the Bowery Ballroom. The kids will be dancing it up at We Are Your Friends! So get your dancing shoes ready because this week the hosts of the shindig are going to be having a playful little dance off. There will be some prizes courtesy of Warp Records. And if you have a sweet tooth, well then you'll be happy too because Sweet Riot has partnered up for the party too. DJs Lauren Flax (White Lightning) and Huggs (Too Much Posse) will be on the decks all night! So start practicing your moves in front of a mirror and get ready to shine this coming Wednesday!

Disconap faves, Grizzly Bear are playing 2 sold out shows in New York next week with support from Baltimore's Beach House and San Francisco's Papercuts. It has just been confirmed that the after-party for the March 7th show will be a few blocks away from the Bowery Ballroom at Fontanas hosted by We Are Your Friends. Stay tuned for more info.

Making Wednesdays a better place...

CALLING ALL PARTY PEOPLE IN NEW YORK CITY!

This year, the ladies of "We Are Your Friends" are looking to book live acts to perform for our party goers, in addition to booking great DJs. This Wednesday ( January 17th) marks the first live act to perform at W.A.Y.F--Best Fwends. Best Fwends (Moshi Moshi) hails from Texas, layering noise (i.e.: flutes, electronic toy sounds, etc) over danceable tracks, drums and vocals. Check out their Myspace page for streaming audio.
