For serious, how do things like this happen? We know what we're about to say is irrevocably gay, but we were really into J. Hud when she first came on the scene, and now, we're not quite sure. Despite Ne-Yo producing "Spotlight" or whatever, we just can't get behind what we've heard of this record. We just can't and it's making us sad.

While we were scavenging the Internet for more information about The Clik Clik, one of the best girl groups of all time released a new single and video literally under our noses (well not quite literally, but you catch our drift). It may well be the single of the year. The song is "Call The Shots" and the group is Girls Aloud.

Looks amazing, right? Well the sleeve certainly does the song justice (and, to some extent, vice versa). Here is some YouTube-age of the semi-new video. For some reason none of them are very high quality. Get with it Polydor...

A Backstreet Boys thought for Halloween

Some readers may be mildly-to-moderately surprised to know that we've never been HUGE Backstreet Boys fans--we were always more of the *NSYNC persuasion, to be perfectly honest. We don't know, something about BSB always struck us as somewhat... common. That said, we have posted twice about them this week so we suppose perhaps the "tides" are changing, as they were. Or maybe it's just the cover of their new album:



1. Is the just the blazing autumn sunset in our eyes, or is AJ kind of decently fuckable on the cover of this record?? Total otter status (ask Wikipedia).
2. We find it amusing that the graphics of Unbreakable feature broken glass, thus defeating the feeble metaphor in the title for the group's long-lasting resilience... or something.
3. We've only just now noticed that the one with the eyebrows left.

So that's a Backstreet Boys post for Halloween then. On with the festivites.

We're totally not over how FUCKING AMAZING "Modern Timing" is, every time we listen to it, it creeps further and further up our Best Songs Ever 2007™ list. Shit is unreal.

Anyway we've been trolling around Youtube for the video to the new California Roisin single, "Let Me Know", and came across this little thingy instead.



It's Roisin on the photoshoot for the SLEEVE of the new single. Frankly if we've ever heard of a better comcept for a video then we can't remember it. Imagine it: the MUSIC VIDEO is FOOTAGE from BEHIND THE SCENES of the PHOTOSHOOT for the AMAZING SINGLE ARTWORK. When you BUY THE SINGLE it would be like the CONCLUSION to the video you've been watching for the past two months. WHY DOESN'T SOMEONE PAY US TO COME UP WITH THIS SHIT?!?!?!?

We've Got A Bad Feeling About This

At first we were kind of bummed about missing The Feeling play whatever lame venue they played in NYC last week, because we kind of like very naft Britpop made by old people. But then we noticed a drastic change in their American marketing strategy that made us feel a lot better. Surely any band who could change their album artwork from this:



to this:



for its North American release are obviously devoid of all sense of dignity and conviction.
