It's taken us a few days to post the new Kylie video because we're not sure how we feel about it

...and it is causing us a GREAT deal of PAIN and SUFFERING.



That was the video for Kylie's new single "2 Hearts".

First off, after years of anticipation and the suspense of grave medical setbacks, we would have expected the new Kylie video to be a little more than a Goldfrapp video from 2005. That said, the song has the potential to be brilliant after a few listens and perhaps hearing it BANGING from a club PA. The "Whoo!" parts in the chrous are pretty awesome and make us want to get up and dance, though the song could have used a cool middle eight and another chorus (perhaps added "Whoo!"'s?) All in all we are waiting to hear the full album before passing any sort of final judgment on this whole comeback business, so for now we will just say:

1. It's no "Catch You" and
2. We haven't heard the new Dannii single but if it's better than "2 Hearts" then we WILL NOT be responsible for our actions.

Junior Senior are Back! Back!! BACK!!!

They were never really gone! Gone!! GONE!!! to begin with, as "new" album Hey Hey My My Yo Yo has been out in Europe and Japan roughly since the Invasion of Poland in 1939, but it's FINALLY getting a US release, so thank God for that. It's actually REALLY good, like the first album only groovier, more mature (kind of) and actually GAYER, if you can believe it. There's an amazing song on it called "We R The Handclaps" (note playful omission of the letters "A" and "E" in the title) and here it is.

PS: If you read the current issue of BUTT Magazine, there's an interview with Senior where he talks about the time he met up with some dude on the internet whose girlfriend called while he was sucking Senior's dick. Priceless, etc.

Rilo Kiley: Officially No Longer Sucking

Praise the Almighty Lord in the Heavens Above, it would seem like Rilo Kiley, once so amazing before someone slipped Jenny Lewis the Neko Case Polyjuice Potion, have reinvented themselves as AN AWESOME ROCK AND ROLL BAND. God knows the world is in desperate need of hot women playing fantastic indie rock. We know it doesn't seem like there's a shortage, but there is. Believe us.

MIA is Back! Back!! BACK!!!

We're not quite sure how we feel about the new MIA single "Boyz", it starts off with an AMAZING horn sample, but unlike "Bucky Done Gun", it kind of veers off into incomprehensible shouting towards the middle, but the sample comes back at the end. I think we need to sit down with the entire album before forming an official opinion.

ANYWAY.

A quick look at MIA's myspace page reveals that she is playing the (last?) SIREN MUSIC FESTIVAL on July 21st, possibly the only reason to trek down to the vomit-covered beaches of Coney Island to bake in the sun and listen to some bands--that, and Lavender Diamond. But we digress.

MIA has also relaunched MIAUK.com to look like something Paper Rad slapped together during their lunch break, but we're sure she's going for some sort of Third World technology aesthetic. We know you've probably already cold checked the video on every blog known to man, but here it is for the six millionth time.

Roisin Murphy is Back! Back!! BACK!!!

We've been ginormous fans of Roisin Murphy and her now-defunct band Moloko for some time now, and not just because her name is one letter short of being Raisin (LOL!). It's not secret that DN is all about powerful pop ladies and the songs they sing, and Roisin is no exception from our regular Ellis-Bextors, Stevens', Goldfrapps and other Dragonettes. Her new single (entitled, brilliantly, "Overpowered") has been making "waves" around the greater Internet area for the last couple of months, and we must say, it is quite an infectious slice of laid-back femme-pop. It's interesting to see Roisin move away from the more pure disco vibe of Moloko on her solo efforts and embrace a more complex sound--blah blah whatever, it's fantastic and deserves your utter attention. It's streaming right now on her MySpace profile--apparently some site where you can listen to an artist's songs and look at some pictures of them. Ah technology, etc.

It's been a while since we heard form our beloved Autistic Monkeys, and it's our great pleasure to inform you that they haven't pulled a Futureheads and changed their whole "thing". They're still Joy Division on uppers, with Tom making even crazier mouth-gestures and facial expressions.

We've been wondering what Dizzee Rascal has been up to lately. We downloaded "Sirens", his new single, a few weeks ago off some random blog and have been bopping along to it off and on since, but kind of didn't get as obsessed with it as we thought we would. THAT IS UNTIL THIS CAME ALONG.



OH, SO WE GUESS HE'S BEEN GETTING CHASED BY COUNTRYMEN ON HORSES.
